How to Install Wood Porch Flooring

Wood porch flooring – Porch boards fit together in the same way as interior, heavy and groove floors, but they are a little easier to install. The shelves go straight across your porch streams-the horizontal support beams that hold the floor-instead of over a subfloor. In many cases, the design of the porch frame will allow you to let the planks hang out at the end when you install them. That way you can trim them to size at one time, instead of cutting each piece

How to install wood porch flooring. Put your planks face down on the saw bows. Coat the underside with primer brush it on in a thin but complete layer. Prime the pages of boards as well. Lay your first plank at one end of the porch, perpendicular to the porch streams, with the tongue side facing the porch. The plank must run across all the beams and hang out at the end of the porch. Slide two stitches through the face of the board at each point where it crosses a dragon. Push your next board into place next to the first tongue locking and groove jointing close together. Instead of sewing through the top of the shelf this time, put a nail through the side of the shelf, just above the tongue, at a descending angle at each point where the shelf crosses a crossbar. Again the shelf should hang out at the end of the porch.
